About Martinsville Parks and Recreation

Beginning with the establishment of our largest park, Jimmy Nash City Park on approximately 110-acres in 1947, Martinsville has a proud history of providing quality recreational amenities for our residents and visitors. Our first shelter house was completed in 1948 with a second shelter house built in 1950, the same year the park acquired tennis courts. A third shelter house was constructed in 1952 and a fourth in 1955. Our swimming pool, enjoyed by hundreds of guests each summer was first ready for area residents to enjoy on Memorial Day 1954, along with a lighted softball diamond that year.

Today Martinsville Parks and Recreation has four Parks, including Jimmy Nash City Park, Mulberry Park, Doris Daily Park, Victory Park.   Activities offered at these Parks include Swimming, Hiking, Multiple Playgrounds, Basketball, Pickleball, Dog park, Fishing Lake, Picnic Areas and more.  In addition to the multiple things to do at the Park on your own, we also offer many programs and special events.
We invite you to come out and enjoy all the recreational fun our parks offer!
